The baseplate consists of adjacent to the skin hydrocolloid layer Stomahesive and the outer protective layer of polyethylene film with subtle embossing, which gives flexibility to the plate and reduces mucosal injury of the intestine. The baseplate can be used for patients with the sensitive skin around the stoma. There are five sizes of the baseplate.
The baseplate is covered with a hydrocolloid Stomahesive layer not across the surface, but inside the ring and flange on its outer edge, with a soft material that supports the edge coated with the special hypoallergenic glue. With this design, the baseplate adheres well to the changed skin, for example, in the case of the patients with hernias, overweight or extremely malnourished patients. The main practical advantage of moldable baseplates is that there is no need to use scissors, cutting a hole the right size and shape.
