HydroTac® can absorb wound exudate and release moisture even when applied to dry wounds. This provides a moist wound environment which has a stimulating effect on wound healing. The gel on the side of the wound-contact layer prevents the dressing from sticking to the wound. It can be removed almost painlessly without leaving any residue.
HydroTac® should be changed when it is clinically indicated or when exudate becomes visible at the edges of the dressing. In the case of clinically infected wounds and in areas with exposed bones and tendons, HydroTac® should only be used under medical supervision. In the event of full thickness second degree and third degree burns, HydroTac® may be used under medical supervision following debridement of necrotic tissue or surgical treatment. Do not use HydroTac® concurrently with oxidants such as hypochlorite solutions or hydrogen peroxide. This can damage the wound dressing.
